This is Not a Mall (TINAM) is all about South & South East Asia. 

TINAM currently has a particular concentration on the Kingdom of Thailand, thus our focus is on social issues within the region. Key issues include HIV prevention, women's healthcare, child protection, education, human trafficking and human rights injustices. 

TINAM is currently donating 15% of our profits to Faa Lang Fon.

Many of This is Not a Mall's most popular products come direct from the Hilltribes of Northern Thailand. Faa Lang Fon is a non-profit organisation working with the Karen Hilltribe, located in Mae Hong Son Provence close to the Burmese border. Faa Lang Fon specifically supports the women, children and families living in the mountains of Hoay Paang. Poverty among the 7000 inhabitants of this area is extreme. Providing education, housing and healthcare is critical, as bureaucracy has resulted in the denial of security & permanent status to members of the Hoay Paang community. Faa Lang Fon place a large emphasis on education through the distribution of scholarships to children living in the hilltribe, enabling them to complete secondary school whilst providing a safe "home" environment for the children to live during the school semester.
